A good meal – an experience to be savoured
As Sweden’s first roadside hotel and restaurant Gyllene Uttern is by tradition still one of the most popular stopovers. During the busy summer months, many travellers enjoy a break in our Coffee Room.
In the rustic Banqueting Hall our lunch guests can sit down with crisp linen tablecloths and freshly cut flowers whilst enjoying the beautiful view over Lake Vättern.
Our À la carte menu is served in the glazed veranda.
For larger parties we offer seating for up to 350 guests.
Our restaurant is of course fully licensed with a keen interest in offering our guests a wide choice of selected wines and other drinks from our well-stocked cellar, as well as the finest champagnes served at just the right temperature.
An exquisite meal must always be based on the best and freshest produce available. Our supplies come from organic producers in the immediate area, which means we can offer our guests everything from lamb and sausages to cheeses and fruits from local farms.

Coffees and teas
Enjoy freshly made sandwiches, cakes and pastries in a historical setting. Our open prawn sandwiches are a very popular choice among guests stopping for a break. During the winter months, a range of sandwiches à la minute are available in the hotel lobby.
Enjoy a carefully prepared meal and choose from 12 different salads in our vegetable buffet.

Our special menu reflects the provincial cuisine of Småland. An excellent choice when entertaining guests or as a luxury treat. Your choice between two or three courses.

The Gyllene Uttern special including whitefish roe, char and Swedish cheesecake (curd cake).
À la Carte
Classic dishes with a modern twist. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner from our à la carte menu with a choice of carefully selected wines.
All our menus are available throughout the week.
A choice of vegetarian and dietary alternatives is of course always available.
